Samantha Plush is an Accredited Practising Dietitian who specialises in gastrointestinal nutrition and nutrition support for people undergoing cancer treatments, including surgical procedures and tube feeding.
Samantha completed her training at Flinders University in Adelaide and started her career working in Orange, NSW within public hospitals and private clinics. With more than 10 years’ experience as an acute care dietitian, Samantha’s areas of expertise include oncology, gastroenterology, renal and critical care nutrition. Samantha has experience working with adults, children and babies.
Specialist clinical nutrition skills
Gastroenterology
Samantha works closely with Gastroenterologists, Surgeons and Stomal Therapists, and specialises in medical nutrition therapy and therapeutic diets for gastrointestinal conditions and surgical procedures. These include functional gut disorders including irritable bowel syndrome and FODMAP therapy, inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohns Disease / ulcerative colitis), gastrointestinal cancers, eosinophillic oesophagitis, liver disease, enteral tube feeding, malabsorptive disorders, and surgical weight loss procedures.
Oncology
Samantha has a special interest in working with patients undergoing cancer treatment. She works closely with oncologists to support clients to optimise what they eat during both chemotherapy and radiation therapy treatments. She has detailed understanding of how treatment cause nutrition impact symptoms. Samantha is able to provide strategies to manage symptoms to support clients through their treatment in the best possible nutrition status.

Samantha enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is an avid cook and loves baking, as well as spending time at the beach or outdoors in linear park.
