Rachel Davis

Rachel Davis is an Accredited Practising Dietitian who specialises in gastrointestinal nutrition, enteral tube feeding and nutrition support for people undergoing cancer treatment.
Rachel completed her training at Flinders University and honours research project with the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Service at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide. Rachel works across both in a public hospital and her private practice clinic seeing in the specialty areas of gastroenterology, gastrointestinal surgery, oncology and home enteral tube feeding.
Specialist Clinical Skills
Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Rachel has a strong interest in providing nutrition support to patients with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Her experience includes using a variety of dietary management strategies for treating inflammation in Crohn’s disease and using individualised diet therapies and nutrition support for both Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Rachel’s has a particular interest in fibre in gastrointestinal diseases and her recent research focused on investigating fibre intakes of people with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and has an interest in the impact of fibre intake in this population group.
Gastroenterology
Rachel works closely with gastroenterologists and surgeons to provide specialist nutrition therapy to people undergoing surgical procedures and those with gastrointestinal conditions. This includes FODMAP diet therapy for people suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome, nutrition support in liver disease, gastrointestinal cancers and malabsorptive disorders.
Enteral Tube Feeding and Oncology
Rachel has a special interest in home enteral tube feeding, providing specialist dietary advice and support to individuals and their families. Rachel also works closely with oncologist and specialist nurses to provide nutrition support to patients undergoing both chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Her experience includes providing dietary advice and enteral tube feeding support to assist patients with optimising their nutrition during and after cancer treatment.
